The second Transmontana is home. Locomotive 480 093 joins the BUDAMAR GROUP fleet

The BUDAMAR GROUP fleet has become even stronger. Following locomotive 480 092, the second Softronic Transmontana electric locomotive, numbered 480 093, has now arrived. Its delivery completes the pair of powerful six-axle locomotives that we lease from Slovak leasing company RS Lease.

The new Transmontana will operate alongside its sister locomotive in Hungary, primarily hauling heavy freight trains. With a power output of 6,000 kW and a maximum tractive effort of 425 kN, it provides us with additional capacity for demanding international transport operations for our customers.

Slovak landmarks, this time in blue

Just like the first Transmontana, the second locomotive has also received an original design. While the first locomotive represents BUDAMAR GROUP in a striking red colour scheme, the second features a blue livery. Together, they form an unmistakable pair.

Once again, we have chosen a design featuring significant Slovak landmarks and monuments. The sides of locomotive 480 093 feature Devín Castle, the Slavín Memorial, the Blue Church in Bratislava, Beckov Castle, the Calvary in Banská Štiavnica, the Basilica of St. Giles in Bardejov and the Memorial to the Czechoslovak Army Corps at Dukla.

The pair of Softronic Transmontana locomotives therefore brings more than just the additional power needed to handle our growing transport volumes. Thanks to their distinctive designs, they also represent both BUDAMAR GROUP and Slovakia on railway lines across Central and Southeastern Europe.
