During the past weekend, employees of the BUDAMAR Group took part in the International Peace Marathon in Košice, competing in relay and half-marathon categories.
This prestigious sporting event was held for the 102nd time in 2025, reaffirming its exceptional status among the world’s marathons. The Košice Marathon is the oldest marathon in Europe and the third oldest in the world. Each year, it attracts thousands of runners from dozens of countries who gather to race on the fast course through the historic centre of Košice.
Team effort and a shared goal
BUDAMAR employees formed relay teams, while some colleagues decided to take on the half-marathon individually. Their participation reflected dedication, teamwork, and pride in representing the company beyond the workplace.
Regardless of finish times, every performance deserves recognition. Our colleagues demonstrated that the same values forming the foundation of their daily work — responsibility, perseverance, and cooperation — can also shine on the running track.
A tradition with a unique atmosphere
The International Peace Marathon is one of Slovakia’s most significant sporting events. Every first weekend of October, Košice transforms into a city of sport, filled with a truly unique atmosphere. Thousands of spectators line the streets, cheering runners along the entire route and creating an unforgettable backdrop.
For our colleagues, participation was not only about running but also about shared experiences, mutual support, and motivation to push personal limits.
